Artisan bakers. Out of the ordinary fair. Cakes and soup amazing

Good food and coffee for a cold Skye day.The pastry were very good. The soup was just ok.

Stopped in as it was close by to our B&B . It was a blustery day so the place was completely full. We ordered coffee, a piece of carmel cake and a wonderful leak and cheese roll. Very fresh and delicious. The staff was pleasant and theres a nice artist gallery upstairs .

My friend and I stopped here for some quick lunch whilst on our trip around the Isle of Skye, so we didn't check out the upstairs which has an art gallery, but you could see some paintings on the wall on the ground floor where they serve the food. We both ordered the soup of the day which comes with bread. On this particular day it was leek and potato soup, which was mostly smooth with little chunks of potatoes, and it came with 2 slices of bread, one was brown bread and the other was corn bread, and a bit of butter on the side. This soup exceeded expectations it was very yummy and the bread was fluffy. We also had 2 slices of cake, a coffee cake and a peanut butter cake. They were OK, but the peanut butter one was crumbly and the coffee one didn't taste as much of coffee as I'd wish. We believe most of the flavour was in the icing and not as much on the cake itself. As for the place, it was quite big and well decorated. They have a disabled bathroom that works as the women's bathroom, but I couldn't see a baby changing facility even though they had a corner where kids could play. They also don't have Wi-Fi available. But they do have a quite big car park. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Beware, it's difficult to see the sign post from the main road, so you need to be on the lookout for it.

We have visited this bakery and coffee shop on several occasions and today was our first disappointment. We ordered fruit scones with our teas. They were served with a superb gooseberry ginger and almond jam but the scones were dry and did not appear to be fresh had it not been for the amazing jam we would have sent them back. Surely a bakery could make fresh scones!!!!!
