Matt, the host was very welcoming. He made a very nice English breakfast with bacon, eggs, hash brown, mushroom etc. The location was approximately a 10 minute walk from the train station. The bedroom was small but functional. The bed was comfortable, toilet and bathroom clean. We would stay in this place again.
This is the third time that my husband and I have stayed at Breachfield, and each time we have had a warm and friendly welcome. the breakfasts have been amazing and the room are clean and comfy. nothing is too much trouble, and I am sure we will get the same welcome when we stay again as Matt never forgets a guest.
Despite a warm and welcoming host we were very disappointed by our stay. The website is misleading in the way it describes the bedrooms and bathrooms as we had to share a bathroom with another couple. Our room contained two horribly springy beds with decor and linen styled on my nan's house from 40 years ago. We slept poorly, and breakfast the next day was low quality. Cheap bacon, microwaved scrambled eggs that were solid rubber and sausage that contained a meat I can't describe. Yes, its close to Monkey World, and cheaper than other options but sleeping badly and eating poorly are going to stick in the memory far longer than the price will.
Great experience. Cozy room. Wonderful breakfast - both food and chat with Matt. Excellent customer service. Everything you want from B&B. Definitely an experience worth repeating!
Got to the area late and didn't have a reservation anywhere and found Breachfield and knocked on the door and Matt was gracious enough to let us get two rooms. Incredible stay and Matt is an incredible host and a joy to chat with. The breakfast was unbelievable and Matt gave us some great info on local sites and a ton of neat T.E. Lawrence info that gave us an interesting tour before going to the tank museum. Thanks Matt!!
